Hungarian Nationalism

Hungary went through both romantic and liberal nationalism. Hungary was emancipated and there were new laws, which show a new government. This shows liberal nationalism because it’s talking about the government and laws. The romantic side was that they had a Hungarian language. Magyar played a big role with the language story. They changed their own nation and found equality thru law, which shows more liberal nationalism. I do think that there is more liberal, but there are a few romantic so I think this is both romantic and liberal nationalism.

Italian Nationalism

Italy went through both Liberal and Romantic. “It was a constitutional monarchy with a parliament.” Page 1. They had a progressive and prudent government for their time. The chamber of deputies was the lower house and they were elected. They also controlled the money government spend. The king appointed the senate. They could not provide weapons for one thousand men in the south which shows that not everything was divided. They lost between 20,000 to 74,000 men in the period of 1861-1870. Italy had their good times, and then they didn’t put as much effort in helping the south. So there were many casualties.
